Moving On

I really can’t find the right words for this, seriously. I’m not being melodramatic, I just can’t. What I’m trying to say is I really enjoyed my stay here and The Smitten Soul will always be my first love. As much as I want to keep and maintain my old crib, I say it’s time for me to move on. Aww. It’s so silly of me to attach my self to my blog, I know.hahah But really, my blog had been the extension of my self especially during “those times”. So, before this entry travels down memory lane, let me say what I really wanted to say:

I created a new blog! ) Hope you guys will visit me there. I kept my blogrolls, please update yours.:D I will also be keeping my July entries and more future entries will be posted there after this one. Blog description and other details were posted there.

The Saga goes on: Eclipse

I finally (finally 3x) had the time to watch Twilight’s third installment, Eclipse. Notice the emphasis given on finally; well for one, I was not able to watch it on the premiere night the way we planned it. Secondly, I was badly spoiled of the opening credits when Jayem and I rode the bus last Monday. Man, these pirated versions were fast, I had to plug in my earphones and close my eyes to spare myself from being spoiled and not to mention, the bad copy.

General Comment

Despite some of the bad reviews I read and some of the negative comments I got from those who’ve already watched it ahead, I actually thought the movie was great. First off, I would be really disappointed if Eclipse was badly produced. I mean, this is the third movie already. I can probably let go being unsatisfied on the first two movies (yes, I definitely agree with those who think so, too), but the third one should be their redeeming part–and it was! Secondly, and I think I’m going to be biased on this one, the third book is my most favorite read. The first one was, I think, the weakest or I just thought there wasn’t a lot going on. The second book made me cry until the wee hours of the night, only because I hated the thought that Edward was, for me, too weak that he left Bell. Yes, this is me being personal about it.haha The third one was full of action and I loved how a lot of mysteries were revealed about some of the Cullen’s past.

On a Personal Note

Bad-ass Action Scenes (note: thanks to Vampire Academy, I am now in love with the word, “bad-ass”). I cannot say enough. Brilliant is an understatement and their team did a very great job on this one. The fight scenes were greatly executed and even the stunts were just enough to make me go, “whoa”. What I really liked about it was the choreography wasn’t overkilled. I always have issues with movements and stunts that were too way overboard, but the Eclipse team nailed this one. Would it be weird if I say that my exact emotion when I was watching the fight scenes was, “kinilig ako”, seriously. The army of vampires was a good call for the book and the movie.

Overrated Cheesy Scenes. You can always sue me if you don’t agree with me.haha Sorry, but if I was watching Eclipse on DVD, I would’ve fast-forwarded these parts, just kidding. Okay, as much as I’m the type who’s in love with love, the scenes were just too much for me to take. I don’t know if it’s just me or did Bella suddenly become an annoying flirt for me.haha She was all over Edward and she was, too on Jacob. I remember that I was able to bear the one written in the book, but I don’t understand how come it looked off to me when it was already Kirsten Stewart doing it.

I Love-Hate Characters. I’m not so much familiar with Hollywood actors and actresses, so I won’t be able to compare past roles and performances, this will be just me quickly commenting on the casting and their acting on the movie alone.haha I won’t be doing all the main characters, just those who caught my attention and thoughts.;p

Okay, I love…

Jacob Black. I’m not into his six-packs, just so it’s clear; though, I must give it to him for being able to maintain his bod for the movie. Taylor Lautner was, indeed, Jacob Black (period). Jacob’s role was credible and his persona gave justice to who I would have imagined in the book. Although, I find his I’m-hotter-than-you line off, but still it was kinda funny.haha

Jane. Two thumbs up for the one who played the Volturi guard, who can give the illusion of pain. The facial expressions, the delivery of lines and even the stares were enough to give me goosebumps. Okay, so maybe I was a little bit extreme on the goosebumps part.haha I can’t help it, she was really good, enough for me to imagine that I had goosebumps even during her first appearance in the second movie.

Alice. She’ll always be one of my favorite vampires in the book because of her perky character. It’s a good thing that her character wasn’t murdered in the movie. Alice would always be one of those I look forward to because I think she has so much to give and do in the movie.

I didn’t like…

Edward-Bella. I think I already mentioned it above that Bella’s character in the movie didn’t satisfy me. Some of her acting were too much and some lacked feelings. The same goes for Edward. And just recently, I realized that Edward, as in Robert, may not be as handsome as the one described and written in the book. Sad.

In general, I really thought the movie deserves a star. It was great enough for me to hold my bladder that time.haha Breaking Dawn, the fourth book, is another fave. I can’t wait on how they will spin the plot and cast the characters. And since I was happy with this movie, I’ll be really expecting a lot more on their last part.

Real men don’t just stare

So, we were outside the supermarket. This guy parked his van near the gutter where people park their shopping cart to be picked up by the supermarket staff. I was loading our car with the groceries from our second cart, when the first cart I left rolled towards the door of his van. He then started mumbling how big the dent was. I wasn’t paying attention to him because I already left the cart and I knew it wasn’t my fault that gravity exists on earth. I mean my cart wasn’t the only one parked that time, meaning people leave their cart on that area all the time. What pissed me off was when he started shouting, “sorry ha. sorry ha. sorry ha.”. He stared at my dad, who at that time had no idea what happened because he was on the other side of the car. My dad didn’t like the stare and the way he kept on going, “sorry ha”; so, my dad answered back, “bakit parang sinisisi mo ako, hindi ko naman alam kung ano nangyare”. The guy didn’t answer, took his place on the driver’s seat, then stared at me, so I went over the window and said, “Excuse me, I didn’t push the cart. Gumulong yung cart”. The guy didn’t answer and drove off.

I know it wasn’t wise to answer back, but I can’t help it. Here are the reasons why it didn’t bother me answering him like that:

1. The dent wasn’t that big, I even thought that there was none at all or I just didn’t see it because it wasn’t noticeable. It’s not as if the cart had a very big impact on his van, because as I said, the cart was just on the gutter and his van was near the gutter. Another thing, even if I didn’t have the distance of the cart to prove it, I’d know if the dent was big with the way he handled the situation. Any man who had his car seriously damaged by another person would approach the other party and would show them the damage as ground for negotiations; instead, that guy just tried to get our attention by shouting, “sorry ha. sorry ha.” He didn’t even stay to defend his claimed big dent on the door of his van. I mean no person on his right mind would just leave behind the people who damaged his car, that is if the damage was really serious.

2. As I said, I considered the cart not my responsibility anymore, because I already left it where all shoppers leave their cart after using it. I wasn’t even facing his van nor the cart when it happened. The cart wheeled towards the door of his van and it was an accident. I’m not gonna pay for any damage, especially a damage that wasn’t really there.

3. I just hate a person who’s just good at initiating confrontations then shuts up when answered back. As they say, “hanggang unang salita lang”. And isn’t it a little childish to just holler, “sorry ha, sorry ha, sorry ha”. A real man, for me, would deal with the situation by talking, hindi nagpaparinig. Most of all, a real man at that given situation would speak up if he firmly knows and believes that he was right.

I swear I was very passionate when I was writing this entry, because even up to now, I can still feel my blood rising. For that, I’ll stop here because I’m afraid this burning passion would lead to something else, say two or three more paragraphs of endless babbling.
